This 4-hour continuing education course prepares nurses and allied health professionals to provide evidence-based, developmentally appropriate care for pediatric and adolescent populations in California. Participants will review the 2025 CDC/ACIP immunization schedule, address common vaccine concerns, and apply strategies for catch-up vaccination. The course also covers adolescent mental health—including screening for depression, anxiety, and suicide risk—as well as evidence-based interventions for pediatric and adolescent obesity. Learners will explore culturally and linguistically appropriate services (CLAS standards), family-centered approaches, and California-specific legal and ethical considerations such as consent, confidentiality, and mandatory reporting. Through case studies, current guidelines, and practical tools, participants will strengthen their ability to support vaccination compliance, promote mental health, manage obesity, and deliver culturally competent care while maintaining compliance with BRN standards (Title 16 CCR §1456).
